Q.:  Why do I need to use the fan control software for my Apple iMac in Boot Camp?

A.:  We are absolutely sure, people who really use their iMac with Windows OS already know the answer... Standard Apple Boot Camp fan logic is, in fact, almost a disaster: first it waits for whopping 97-98° C in silence. Then it prefers to lower the CPU and GPU performance instead of kicking the fan in. There comes DrFan! Whether you choose the DrFan automatic control with user-adjustable CPU and GPU temperature limits, or fully manual mode, you can be perfectly sure: your iMac will neither overheat, nor degrade the performance because of thermal throttling anymore. DrFan automatic mode considers all thermal sensors together (not just CPU or just GPU) and intelligently preventively adjusts the fan speed, so that under any load your iMac remains as cool (yet as fast!) as possible. It's THE automatic mode Apple should've had created, but we all know, they never would... Another benefit of the DrFan is its super-convenient (literally one-click) manual RPM control directly from the tray icon (please see screen shot).

Q.:  Is the DrFan software free?

A.:  DrFan is a donationware which requires mandatory weekly update. If the week has passed and DrFan was not updated, your iMac will be using the Apple default Boot Camp fan settings, unless the DrFan is up and running. When you download and run the DrFan setup, it automatically installs or updates the DrFan software. Or, you can choose to support the development and, as an official contributor, receive the permanent license key, to avoid any mandatory redownloads / reinstalls. Or, of course, you can easily remove the DrFan package whenever you wish (uninstall from Windows Settings --> 'Apps & Features' list).

Q.:
Is it safe to try the DrFan?

A.:  Absolutely yes. DrFan is held to the highest quality standards and comes with the cross-signed driver component. In addition, the DrFan software didn't come out from nowhere: it's been created by the same experienced people who had previously developed a widely acclaimed Trackpad++ driver for Apple MacBook / Pro / Air series.

Q.:
Can DrFan be used with other Macs than Late-2012 to Early-2019 27" Apple iMac?

A.:  No, because only and solely Late-2012 to Early-2019 27" Apple iMac models are supported. Please note that Space gray iMac Pro, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and Apple laptops (entire Macbook series) are NOT supported.

Q.:
I've got a different question which isn't listed there! How can I get an answer?

A.:  Please don't hesitate to contact us, whether it's a question, enquiry, technical support or critics... Support mail inbox is monitored daily.
